TFI broadcasts Eason Chan’s charity concert 2020 as Global Live Streaming Partner, and streams concert on OpenSky.tv
13/07/2020
TFI was honored to be the Global Live Streaming Partner entrusted by Hong Kong Live Performance and Production Industry Association Limited (“HKLPPIA”) to live-stream the “Live is so much better with Music Eason Chan Charity Concert”. We provided professional, seamless and stable live video streaming service for the concert, which was simultaneously broadcast to the OpenSky.tv App.
Eason Chan was inspired by Hong Kong singers Sam Hui and Aaron Kwok, who have recently staged online charity concerts. He performed voluntarily in this online concert to fundraise for HKLPPIA to support entertainment industry workers affected by the pandemic. The concert was performed twice, with the “Sunrise” performance held at K11 MUSEA, and the “Sunset” show held at Hong Kong Coliseum.
Leveraging HERMES’s advanced technology to live-stream to nearly 100 media platforms and reached over 20 million views
With the One Click Go Live feature powered by HERMES Live, the Eason Chan charity concert was live-streamed to nearly 100 media platforms across the globe. Apart from live-streaming to HKLPPIA’s Facebook page and YouTube channel, the concert was also broadcasted on local and overseas TV stations across the globe, including HK Open TV, ViuTV, GTV Gala Television, CTV and Fairchild Television. The concert successfully reached over 20 million views in total, allowing audiences worldwide to experience this professional, seamless and stable broadcast-grade concert.
Transforming the format of concerts
Eason said in an interview with media, “this concert format breaks with tradition”. As opposed to traditional concerts, singers performing in live-streamed concerts are no longer limited by venue and time constraints and have more flexibility to create and produce content. Furthermore, local singer performances can enter the world stage and reach wider audiences.
Online Paid Concert emerging as a future trend
With the increasing popularity of online concerts, fans who cannot attend concerts in person can purchase e-tickets to watch the live concert of their favorite singers using their electronic devices. Utilizing the Pay-Per-View feature powered by HERMES Live, entertainment companies could develop a new revenue model to grasp this new business opportunity.
